Dr. Meaghan King
Director of Sacred Music

Meaghan King earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where she majored in Organ Performance with minors in Choral Conducting, Sacred Music, and Music Theory. Prior to USC, Meaghan completed her M.Mus, doubling in Sacred Music and Organ Performance, at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and her B.A. in Music at Ave Maria University in Naples, FL. Her previous, concurrent positions in Los Angeles were as Associate Organist at Pasadena Presbyterian Church, Organist at the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter parish in Los Angeles, and Assisting Organist at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. 


As an organist, Dr. King maintains an active performance career and is an active member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO). She served on the executive board of the Los Angeles chapter and as the inaugural dean of the virtual West Region Chapter of the AGO Young Organist initiative for members under 30 years old.

Dr. King currently directs four ensembles at St. John the Baptist: the 4:30 pm Vigil Mass choir, the 10:15 am Mass choir, and the men’s and women’s scholas.
