Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Every Thursday from 8:30 am - 8:00 pm in the Church.

What is Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament:
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is a Eucharistic devotion whereby members of a parish unite in taking hours of adoration before the Most Blessed Sacrament during scheduled hours. Jesus visibly present under the appearance of the small white host is much more conducive to intimacy than hidden away in the tabernacle. This visible presence adds extra responsibility on the adorers to be faithful to the hours they are scheduled. The suggested norm is for at least two people to be present and Jesus must never be left alone. Through Adoration we are able to fulfill the words of our Lord, “Indeed this is the will of My heavenly Father, that everyone who looks upon the Son, and believes in Him, shall have eternal life. Him I will raise up on the last day.”(John 6:40)

Spiritual benefits and graces of Adoration:
An increase in Mass attendance and reception of the sacraments

  • Return of fallen away catholics and an increase in conversions
  • Increase in religious and priestly vocations
  • Renewal of Catholic family life
  • An increase in the spiritual level of the parishioners
  • Greater community spirit centered on Jesus’ presence in the Blessed Sacrament

What to do before Jesus exposed in the Blessed Sacrament:
This your time with Jesus. He wants you to spend time with Him and now you are present to Him. Relax and enjoy this intimate time with Jesus. You may pray, meditate, read prayer books, the bible, pray the rosary or just sit and relax and enjoy the peace the simply comes from being in the presence of God. Know that Jesus is pleased that you take this specific time to spend with Him. John Paul II said that, “our essential commitment in life is to persevere and advance constantly in Eucharistic life and piety and to grow spiritually in the climate of the Holy Eucharist.”
