Tithing Letter

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Praised be Jesus Christ!  So many things are happening throughout our parish by you and your fellow parishioners.  As we answer the call for the New Evangelization, we begin by our participation in the Holy Mass where the proclaiming of God’s Word leads us to the Eucharist which gives us the strength to live our daily lives for God.  Giving glory to God in thanksgiving helps us lead others to Christ.

Enclosed in this State of the Parish report is a financial disclosure of the parish which clearly shows a strong and steady growth of our parish in recent years.    We are so blessed to have so many generous and active parishioners.  Thank you for your dedication in growing the faith through providing the spiritual, communal and financial needs of the parish.

We have an array of ministries that you and your family can join to be an active part of the community.  We are increasing Adult Formation opportunities and have vibrant Youth Formation Program.  I am blessed to have the volunteers and active support of many parishioners living out their faith through ministries.

We will once again promote the “Stewardship of Treasure” where an examination of the financial gifts that God has given to you is made to determine the amount that you pledge to do His works at St. John the Baptist.  I ask you to prayerfully consider your tithe to our parish.   Tithing is the way in which we show to God our gratitude for his bountiful gifts.   When we tithe, God takes our gifts and returns it to us in various wonderful ways, especially through the way our faith is nurtured.   If you are just beginning to tithe and find it difficult I would encourage you to consider a partial tithe such as 2% or 5% to begin.  After praying and considering your gift, please fill out the back of the commitment card there is a suggested amount that includes steps to reach a full tithe.

Thank you so much for all you do to support the work at St. John the Baptist.   It is through the generosity of parishioners such as yourselves that the work of the Lord continues to build up community.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Rodolfo D. Vásquez
